Crowded corridors and a large volume of visitors from all over Brazil. This was the first edition of ANUFOOD Brazil - International Fair Exclusive for Food and Beverages, which brought to Brazil and to São Paulo a model that is a reference in events for the food industry around the world. ANUFOOD is inspired by ANUGA, held over a century ago in Germany - and like its original version, was organized and promoted by Koelnmesse in partnership with FGV.

The business event took place at the São Paulo Expo, between March 12 and 14, and gathered 7,395 visitors and 200 exhibiting brands from 20 countries. Among the buyers present, representatives of major networks such as Grupo Casino, Carrefour, Walmart, Grupo St. Marché and the regional buyers from all Brazilian states. The event assisted buyers seeking good deals for both domestic and export markets.

Ten sectors in a single fair
The national and international exhibition brands were divided into ten sectors - Agrifoods; Meat; Chilled & Fresh Food; Dairy; Drinks & Hot Beverages; Fine Food; Bread & Bakery; Organic; Sweets & Snacks; and Food Service, besides the thematic pavilions of Argentina, Germany, Arabic Countries, among others.

Business Roundtable
During the three days of ANUFOOD, the International Business Round promoted business meetings between executives from the national food and beverage industry with suppliers from several countries, including the United States, Argentina, China, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. According to Patrício Cintra do Prado, director of Promoex, responsible for the organization of the rounds, more than 70% of the 1,500 pre-scheduled meetings were fulfilled. "The feedback we had from the participants was very positive and exceeded our expectations," says Prado. It is estimated that the business generated will be between US $ 10 and US $ 15 million.

The first edition of ANUFOOD Brazil was sponsored by Banco Fator and was organized in partnership with FGV Projetos, a technical advisory unit of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, dedicating due space to all the diversity of activities related to agribusiness and the food and beverage industry.
