FGV is the 5th best think tank in the world

Institution rose another position in the global ranking and became hors concours as the best managed think tank in the world. For 11 consecutive years, Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) is also considered the best think tank in Latin America.

**Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) has moved up one position in the 2019 ranking of the Global Go To Think Tanks Index and now occupies the 5th position**. The index has just been released by the University of Pennsylvania.

After being elected the best-managed think tank on the planet for three consecutive years, it became hors concours in that category. For 11 consecutive years, FGV is considered the best think tank in Latin America.

*“FGV has won more than one position in the ranking of the best think tanks, it has also managed to improve its position in several specific categories. Keeping that high standard is a constant investment. Every effort is valid to ensure the image of Brazil as a country in a position to occupy a prominent role in areas of strong international competition ”, says the president of Fundação Getulio Vargas, professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal.*

In several other categories, FGV occupies prominent positions. In eight of them, it is in the top 10 ranking:

* 4th best center for regional studies;
* 4th in social policies;
* 6th in advances in the areas of research and innovation;
* 7th in transdisciplinary research;
* 7th in idea or paradigm developed;
* 8th in the best conference held;
* 8th in institutional collaboration with two or more think tanks; and
* 10th in public policy development.

The University of Pennsylvania ranking has been prepared since 2006 by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program. It considers almost eight thousand think tanks from 187 countries in the world.
