Press conference announces holding of international food and beverage fair in Brazil

##FGV and Koelnmesse organized a press conference in São Paulo on July 26 to announce that the ANUFOOD Brazil - Powered by Anuga international fair will be held for the first time in Brazil. The fair is aimed at companies from various segments of food and beverage industry in general. The event will take place between March 12 and 14, 2019, at the São Paulo Expo.##

In the announcement, the director of FGV Projetos, Cesar Cunha Campos, pointed out that Fundação Getulio Vargas has invested heavily in its internationalization process through strategic partnerships, such as the alliance with Koelnmesse to host Anufood Brazil. According to Campos, this is an important step to consolidate activities related to the export of food and to the beverage market, besides being an essential element to promote Brazilian agribusiness, exports, and economic growth.

The Coordinator of FGV’s Center for Agribusiness Studies (GVAgro) and former Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply, Roberto Rodrigues, said that Anufood Brazil is a platform to showcase Brazil’s production capacity to the rest of the world. The fair will build a market for the entire country by bringing international buyers closer, paving the way for agribusiness to keep growing, since, according to Rodrigues, this issue does not concern only the rural area, but Brazil as a whole.

The CEO and President of Koelnmesse, Gerald Böse, pointed out that the fair is an opportunity for the Brazilian food industry to showcase its productivity and the quality of its products. Böse stressed that the events promoted by Koelnmesse always have a positive impact on business. According to him, attending companies are estimated to sell between 60% and 70% of their production of six months or more after the fair.

ANUFOOD Brazil will follow the model adopted by Anuga – the world’s largest food fair with over 34 editions held in Cologne, Germany, bringing together more than 7,000 exhibitors and 160,000 visitors. By encompassing the entire production chain of the food and beverage industry, including producers, manufacturers, importers, and distributors, ANUFOOD Brazil will provide a favorable business environment to showcase exhibitors not only locally, but also in the global market.
