Amazon Dialogues: webinar debates region’s investment challenges and opportunities

This is the seventh event in the Amazon Dialogues, a series of 20 webinars to discuss topics related to sustainable socioeconomic development in the Brazil Amazon with the whole of organized civil society.

The two speakers – Júlio Koga, industrial vice president of Moto Honda da Amazônia, and Victor Bicca Neto, director of Coca-Cola Brasil – will explain the main challenges involved in investing in Brazil’s Amazon region and how to balance investments with environmental issues.

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) will hold a free webinar on Investment in the Amazon: Challenges and Opportunities on Monday, May 3, at 7 pm. Two case studies, about Honda and Coca-Cola, will be presented during the event.

The two speakers – Júlio Koga, industrial vice president of Moto Honda da Amazônia, and Victor Bicca Neto, director of Coca-Cola Brasil – will explain the main challenges involved in investing in Brazil’s Amazon region and how to balance investments with environmental issues. They will also discuss the business models used and their future investment opportunities in the region. The moderators will be Márcio Holland, the coordinator of the Finance and Economics Master’s Program at FGV EESP; and Daniel Vargas, FGVAgro’s research director.

The event is part of the Amazon Dialogues, a series of online meetings to discuss topics related to the Brazilian Amazon’s sustainable socioeconomic development with the whole of civil society. In all, there will be 20 meetings, featuring private sector leaders, experts, public officials, academics and multidisciplinary personalities from all over Brazil.
