Amazon Dialogues: webinar looks at Amazon development proposals

The event will debate the region’s sustainable socioeconomic development with key local officials and business leaders.

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) will hold a webinar called “Proposals for Development for the Brazilian Amazon” on November 22, at 7 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel. The event will debate the region’s sustainable socioeconomic development with key local officials and business leaders.

The event is the last of the year in the Amazon Dialogues series, a digital platform to discuss topics related to sustainable socioeconomic development in the Brazilian Amazon with the whole of society. Over the course of this year, various public officials, business people and academics have presented their visions for the region, as well as suggestions for promoting the bioeconomy, biotechnology, diversification of production and investments in different areas such as infrastructure, education and development.

The guest speakers will be Louise Caroline Campos Löw, the head of the Amazon Development Agency (SUDAM); General Algacir Polsin, the head of the Manaus Free Trade Zone Agency (SUFRAMA); and Wilson Périco, the president of the Amazonas State Industry Center (CIEAM).

The moderators will be Márcio Holland, the coordinator of FGV’s Finance and Economics Master’s Program; and Daniel Vargas, FGV Agro’s research director.
