Financial Market Talks: Central Bank in 2030 is theme of series of webinars

It will be the fourth event in a series of Financial Market Talks, led by Professor Bruno Meyerhof Salama, to discuss subjects related to the development of the Brazilian financial markets.

The Nucleus for Financial and Capital Market Studies (MFCap) at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School will hold a free webinar on November 29, at 2 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel, called “The Central Bank in 2030”. It will be the fourth event in a series of Financial Market Talks, led by Professor Bruno Meyerhof Salama, to discuss subjects related to the development of the Brazilian financial markets.

During the webinar, the participants will debate the future role of the Central Bank, how its activities will be affected by the creation of digital currencies, what challenges are posed by ambiguities in its legal powers and how it ought to deal with new challenges.

The speakers will be Central Bank Prosecutor Leandro Novais e Silva; Anna Lygia Costa Rego, a professor at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School and founder of Thinklaw; and Professor Mario Gomes Schapiro of the FGV Sao Paulo Law School. Bruno Meyerhof Salama, a professor at UC Berkeley School of Law and Senior Global Fellow at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School, will give the opening remarks and moderate the discussions.
