Webinar looks at impacts of pandemic and Ukrainian conflict on prices of strategic inputs

The aim of the event is to explore the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and war in Eastern Europe on the prices of strategic inputs in the sanitation sector.

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV IBRE) is holding a webinar called “Strategic Input Price Volatility in the Sanitation Sector and its Impacts on Public Contracts” on May 16, at 10 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel. The aim of the event is to explore the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and war in Eastern Europe on the prices of strategic inputs in the sanitation sector and the financial rebalancing of government contracts.

The main speaker will be Jacoby Fernandes, founding partner of law firm Jacoby Fernandes & Reolon, who has a master’s in public law from Pernambuco Federal University. He is a professor of administrative law, writer, consultant and conference speaker. He is currently a member of the Brazilian Bar Association’s Special Defense of the Federation Committee and deputy chairman of the Public Spending Control Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association’s Federal District branch. He is also a special member of the Amazon Administration Law Institute and a registered World Bank consultant. The superintendent of FGV IBRE’s global infrastructure and markets area, Túlio Barbosa, will also speak at the event. The moderator will be Solange Monteiro, the editor of FGV IBRE’s Brazilian Economy Magazine.
