Green Imperative Project, Nigeria, 2018
Born from a MoU (Memoradum of Understanding) signed between the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and the Government of Nigeria in 2018 and has the strategic support of the Embassy of Brazil in that country.
Objective: Agricultural technological cooperation, between Brazil and Nigeria, for the development of the largest food production project in the African continent. The project prioritizes the development of sustainable, low-carbon agriculture, and aims to develop local production of basic food for the population. The Green Imperative Project is a high priority project for the Nigerian government, and aims to increase food security for the population and decrease rural exodus, contributing to social peace. Included in this project is the launch of the International Center for Innovation and Agricultural Technology Transfer (CIITTA, in portuguese) in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Event: On October 26, 2020, FGV Europe supported the event "Focus on Africa 2020". During this three-day event, cooperation possibilities were explored between Brazil and Africa and a deep-dive was made into specific economic sectors and countries. Cleber Lima Guarany, FGV Europe Project Manager and President of the International Center for Innovation and Transfer of Agriculture and Livestock Technology (CIITTA, in Portuguese) held a presentation about “The importance of the Agricultural Technology Package for Increasing Food Production in Africa”. “Sustainable Agriculture Training and the National Livestock Program”, Senegal, 2018
Both projects aimed at bringing Brazilian technology to Africa.
This project was born out of a MoU (Memoradum of Understanding) signed between the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and the Government of Senegal, and has the strategic support of the Embassy of Brazil in that country.
Objective: To contribute to the economic and social development of Senegal, promoting investment in sustainable livestock groups, based on existing national development strategies, appropriate Brazilian technological packages and attractiveness to the private sector.

Nacala Corridor Fund within the ProSAVANA program - a triangular initiative between the governments of Mozambique, Japan and Brazil. Mozambique, 2012
An initiative coordinated by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Agriculture of Mozambique (MINAG)
Objective: To transfer sustainable agricultural technologies to Mozambican institutions and also create investment frameworks to public and private investors. The knowledge and farming experiences acquired during the agricultural development of the Brazilian Cerrado - over the past decades will significantly contribute to the improvement of the agricultural productivity of Mozambique, and Africa.
