The COVID-19 crisis is unique in human history. Although there have been many other pandemics, it is the first time that a disease of this type has spread in such a quick manner thanks to the simplified transport routes. Production chains have never been so strongly integrated, nor has the relevance of international trade been so high. The existence of modern communication channels simplifies and at the same time makes the fight against the disease more difficult. On the one hand, we are able to track the infection chains and the efficiency of the measures to contain the virus are better than in the past with new technologies. On the other hand, they can be misused as a tool to increase social unrest and citizens' fears through false reports and through the extreme politicization of crisis management decisions.
